Writer Wednesday: Meet Christy Cross

Christy and Aiden Cross

Christy and Aiden Cross

It’s Wednesday already? Well I guess I best get to work!

Today, I’d like to introduce you to an amazing woman: Christy Cross. This supermom – who certainly isn’t perfect, none of us are – has been a constant inspiration to me and other people who have come to know her. Before I begin, however, there’s someone else I have to introduce: her little boy Aiden (yep, that’s him in the picture). You can’t really get to know Christy without knowing her boy; their lives are deeply entwined and Aiden is a driving passion behind what Christy does.

You see, Aiden has a rare kidney disorder called aHUS (Atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome) and requires extra, extra special care. He had to have his kidneys removed, is on nightly dialysis, and all this for a boy that’s only three years old! If you’d like to learn more, or help support Aiden by helping research for a cure, visit his Aiden’s Cross website.

So what does this mom do as a writer? For starters, she has a personal blog up at Tales of the Toot. She’s the Special Needs Traveling Mom. She writes about her experience at 5 minutes For Special Needs. Oh yeah, and she also writes “Lone Star State of Mind” at Southern Beauty Magazine and The M.O.B. Society (that’s mothers of boys).

Once again, I have to assert that Christy is an amazing woman and an amazing writer; the kind that can make you care about something. So go on, give her a follow on Twitter – @AidensCross – and drop by and subscribe to her blogs!
